چکیده

Climate change is hammering the environment, socio-economic condition, vegetation degradation, earth surface and over land losses. In between 2019 2020, West Bengal people are facing three major cyclones like, Fani, Bulbul last was Amphan. Those natural disasters were affected in vegetation, crop production, water quality change, life losses ecosystem. 20th May 2020 Amphan entering occur several damaged. Seventy two of lost their months southern parts huge scarcity salt-water intrusion on mainland. Over 13.6 billion dollar due to this cyclone. Google Earth Engine (GEE) a cloud-based platform detect observation using high spatial satellite data with planetary-scale analysis capabilities. Tropical cyclone genesis over the south China sea

The South China Sea (SCS) is among areas in the Northwest Pacific most frequented by tropical cyclones (TCs) with intensity reaching a tropical storm or stronger. It is also an area of significant TC genesis. In this study, TC genesis in SCS and its monsoonal variability for 1948–2003 are analyzed. Altogether, in May–September (southwest monsoon period) 157 TC geneses have occurred north of 12°...

Mapping land cover change over continental Africa using Landsat and Google Earth Engine cloud computing

Quantifying and monitoring the spatial and temporal dynamics of the global land cover is critical for better understanding many of the Earth's land surface processes. However, the lack of regularly updated, continental-scale, and high spatial resolution (30 m) land cover data limit our ability to better understand the spatial extent and the temporal dynamics of land surface changes. Despite the...

Investigation of land use changes in Gorganrood catchment using Google Earth Engine platform

The purpose of this study is to investigate landuse changes in Gorganrood basin in 2001, 2010 and 2019. Using Landsat and Product-Modes satellite images, used maps were prepared using the classification method of random forest algorithm in Google Earth Engine. Satellite imagery was classified into eight classes including forest, cropland, shrubland, grassland, wetland, urban, barren, and water....

Tropical cyclone inundation potential on the Hawaiian Islands of Oahu and Kauai

The lack of a continental shelf in steep volcanic islands leads to significant changes in tropical cyclone inundation potential, with wave setup and runup increasing in importance and wind driven surge decreasing when compared to more gently-sloped mainland regions. This is illustrated through high resolution modeling of waves, surge, and runup on the Hawaiian Islands of Oahu and Kauai. A serie...

The Influence of Natural Climate Variability on Tropical Cyclones, and Seasonal Forecasts of Tropical Cyclone Activity

In the first part of this chapter, we give a review of the relationship of climate and tropical cyclones on various time scales, from intra-seasonal to decadal. The response of tropical cyclone activity to natural modes of variability, such as El Niño-Southern Oscillation and the Madden Julian Oscillation in various regions of the world are discussed. Genesis location, track types and intensity...
